SATURDAY CRICKET

The Club runs four Saturday sides all of which are in the I’Anson league. Two of these play at home each week and two play away. Whilst the first team is one of the strongest around, the other teams represent varying standards of cricket. Every member who wants a game can normally play every Saturday. The fourth team, in particular, provides an excellent opportunity for up and coming younger players to get experience in adult competitive cricket – although the better ones progress to higher teams quickly.

Whilst having a large number of players to draw from, there is always a demand for more to replace those moving away from the area, for holidays and sickness etc. New members are always welcome .

LADIES CRICKET

The ladies played their first match in 2000 and now there is a full-blown Ladies Section with sufficient members to comfortably run a team. They would however very much welcome anyone else who is interested. Frensham Ladies have now joined the Surrey Twenty-Over Development league.

YOUTH CRICKET

The Club runs Under 9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15  and Under 17 teams in the Two Counties Youth League and West Surrey Colts Youth League with each team having a manager and coaching sessions with professional coaches. Success has been varied but there are a number of excellent young cricketers already playing in adult teams with great success.

For further information on the youth section please email the Youth Secretary - Simon Dibdin

SUNDAY CRICKET

Sunday cricket is played mostly at home or against local clubs which means there is never too much travelling.  Scores of over 200 are a regular feature and the games are always enjoyed as a relaxation from the Saturday league.

For the last few years two Sunday teams have been fielded but more recently there has been a noticeable drop in players. This is probably due to nearly everyone getting a game on Saturday and pressure from various sources for players not to play twice a weekend.

As there are numerous very attractive fixtures available for a second team, the Club is introducing a Sunday membership at social membership rates. This will attract members from other clubs who cannot get Sunday cricket where they are.
